Larger shares of customers from each major events say they really feel fatigued than say they like the level of political content on these websites, but Republicans and Republican-leaning independents are considerably more likely than Democrats and Democratic leaners to say they are worn out by how many political posts they encounter on social media (51% vs. forty three%). Still, some social media customers are ambivalent about seeing most of these posts or find them pleasant. About 4-in-ten say they don’t really feel strongly about encountering these discussions, whereas a much smaller share (15%) say they like seeing a lot of political posts on social media. Some 46% of adult social media customers say they feel “worn out” by the variety of political posts and discussions they see on social media, based on a Pew Research Center survey of U.S. adults carried out June three-17, 2019.
