Finally, the module addresses the important question of the necessity to change the law to accommodate the precise needs of protection of cultural heritage and it aims to provide coherence to a complex body of rules on the intersection of civil legislation, property law, criminal regulation, public legislation, private international legislation and public international legislation. The module will look at the evolution, principles, institutions and functions of international human rights legislation in their political, social and financial contexts. It will present students with detailed knowledge and understanding of the origins and growth of human rights regulation by way of important study and evaluation of key theoretical perspectives and debates.
Staff and students
It will prepare students for further detailed examine of property regulation at Level 5 (Land Law … LAW311) and at Level 6 (Equity and Trusts) as well as complementing the examine of aspects of Tort, Contract and Criminal Law. Completion of this module and Land Law (LAW311) will permit students to meet the necessities of the professional bodies in respect of property law in Northern Ireland, England and Wales. In June 2018 the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) issued a proposed rule to considerably enhance the wage threshold to qualify as an exempt Executive, Administrative and Professional (EAP) worker underneath the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act (PMWA), and invited public comment. On October 17, 2019, DLI submitted its last regulation to the state’s Independent Regulatory Review Commission (IRRC) and legislative oversight committees. IRRC will maintain a public assembly on November 21, 2019 to determine whether to approve the ultimate regulation. Every year the Section of Labor and Employment Law presents three awards at our annual convention.
