As traditionally defined and studied, political science examines the state and its organs and institutions. The modern discipline, nevertheless, is considerably broader than this, encompassing research of all of the societal, cultural, and psychological components that mutually influence the operation of presidency and the body politic. Political science majors have expertise in research and writing — two of the largest assets for reporting.
